| All of the original pieces are pen-and-ink drawings done in black ink on white paper. The two themes recurring most frequently in my works are the macabre and Greco-Roman Mythology. I am hopelessly drawn to vintage engravings and woodcuts, particulalry the genius of Albrecht Durer (1471-1528), as well as the exquisite engraving-like pen-and-ink mastery of both Franklin Booth (1874-1948) and Mr. Bernie Wrightson (1948-Present), and have often attempted to reproduce an engraving/woodcut effect by means of inking. |
